The decision was made following a meeting of the Emergency State Security Council where they discussed how to handle the increasing violence and disruptions occurring during civil demonstrations.

During the emergency meeting, it was unanimously decided to implement a curfew in order to safeguard lives and preserve public as well as private property,” stated Tofa.

To reinstate stability and guarantee the security of our neighborhoods, it is imperative to enforce this curfew.

He stated that safeguarding our citizens against additional harm and upholding the integrity of our state’s institutions and enterprises is crucial.

During this difficult period, the governor urged all members of society to stay alert and remain unified.

We should not allow a small group of self-centered people to cause divisions among us.

He said that we can jointly overcome these challenges and strengthen our determination to construct a more robust and resistant Kano State.

It was stated that the Kano State curfew must be fully complied with by all security agencies in the state, and citizens are advised to adhere to this directive for their own safety as well as others’ welfare.

PUNCH Online reports that the recently constructed Industrial Park of the Nigeria Communication Commission in Kano State was robbed by hooligans.

Online images and clips depict the miscreants intentionally igniting the structure while looting precious assets such as computers, furnishings, and electronic devices.
