Terrorists Strike Again In Kaduna, Abducting 87 Villagers

Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State

It is with deep sorrow that I report on the latest terrorist attack in the volatile Kajuru region of Kaduna State. According to community leader Harisu Dari, around 87 individuals were abducted late Sunday night when gunmen raided Kajuru-Station village.

Eyewitnesses said the assailants descended on the remote community approximately at 10pm, abducting men, women, and children without resistance. The terrorists are also accused of looting shops for food and valuables during their operation.

Tragically, this comes barely two days after a similar incident saw 15 women and one man taken hostage in neighboring Dogon-Noma. As Kajuru and Chikun LGAs have seen over 170 abductions in the last two weeks alone, fear hangs thick amid ongoing security risks.

Mr. Dari expressed concerns over the villager’s welfare, as the armed forces have yet to respond to restoring safety. The state remains highly volatile due to increasing militant activity by various armed factions.

As the Senator representing Kaduna Central, I will be following up urgently with security agencies and pursuing all avenues for the protection of civilians during these harrowing times. No effort will be spared to ensure the safe return of every individual to their families and community.

Going forward, lasting solutions require an integrated approach to addressing the socioeconomic marginalization that fuels this cycle of violence. All leaders must now come together for the greater good of citizens.
