Following meticulous and diligent investigations, detectives from the Imo State Police Command have apprehended three individuals named Joseph Onyema, Uzoma Nwanoreze, and Eberechukwu Nwosu. The suspects, aged 35, 30, and 43, respectively, are accused of defiling a 12-year-old girl whose identity is being withheld for her protection.
The police investigations have revealed that the suspects allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual acts with the minor on multiple occasions. These acts resulted in severe vaginal injuries for the victim as well as a sexually transmitted disease.
Currently, the victim is receiving intensive medical care at a local hospital. The suspects will face legal proceedings once a discreet investigation has been completed.
Confirming the incident, ASP Okoye Henry, the spokesperson for the state police command, stated that the Commissioner of Police for Imo State, CP Aboki Danjuma, strongly condemns these heinous acts.
He called upon the well-meaning residents of Imo State to support the police in their efforts to combat defilement, rape, and other sexual crimes within the state. CP Danjuma emphasized that such a societal menace is completely unacceptable, and the perpetrators will face the full force of the law.
