CAC Prophet

It has been trouble lately for the General Overseer of CAC Freedom City Prophetic Ministry following his arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the weekend. According to a statement by commission spokesperson Dele Oyewale, self-proclaimed prophet Adeniyi James is accused of fraud involving close to 4 million naira.

The statement revealed that complainant Oluwole Babarinsa had filed a petition narrating how events unfolded last year. Babarinsa said during one church programme, James identified his pending overseas trip in a vision. Their discussion then focused on the preferred destination of Canada. An agreement to further discuss the trip was reached.

However, Babarinsa alleged that later the prophet mentioned a Lagos contact who could help with relocating to Canada for a 1.7 million nira fee plus an additional 2.5 million for air tickets and travel documents. To raise the funds, the petitioner stated he sold properties and took loans, handing over the total sum to James with the understanding that arrangements were underway.

As time passed without updates, Babarinsa grew worried about the lack of progress. Numerous refund requests yielded no results, forcing him to involve the EFCC. The commission affirmed evidence from preliminary probes warranting CAC Prophet James’ arrest. He will be arraigned upon completion of the investigations. The situation has drawn serious reactions within the church, which hopes for justice.
