Missing 9-year-old girl

In a recent development, the missing 9-year-old girl, Patience, who had disappeared in the Meiran area of Lagos State, has been found safe in Sango-Ota, Ogun State. This comes after her guardians sought assistance from PUNCH Metro the following eight days after her disappearance was reported to the local police division.

According to reports, Patience had left her house on March 31, 2024, to return a food warmer to a neighbor who lived nearby. The sudden disappearance of the 9-year-old girl raised concerns, especially when her guardians realized she did not know the exact location of the neighbor’s house.

Mrs. Esther Olabiyi, one of Patience’s guardians, shared their worry, stating, “We have been looking for her since then. But when it became so serious, we had to go and report to the Meiran division of the police.” Despite their relentless efforts, they were unable to locate the missing 9-year-old girl, and even a visit to her village yielded no results.

However, there is finally some good news to share. Mrs. Olabiyi confirmed that Patience, the missing 9-year-old girl, was found at the Sango-Ota Police Division in Ogun State. She had been at the station since Sunday, according to the authorities. Expressing their overwhelming joy and gratitude, Esther’s husband, Pastor Olabiyi, took a moment to thank PUNCH Metro for their publication, which played a crucial role in locating the missing 9-year-old girl.

“We have found her. My wife is currently with her. She went to pick her up at the police station. Thank you. We appreciate it,” Pastor Olabiyi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to PUNCH Metro.

A senior police officer at the Meiran Division also confirmed the news, stating that the missing 9-year-old girl had indeed been found in Sango-Ota. The details surrounding her disappearance and subsequent discovery are yet to be revealed.

This remarkable development brings immense relief to the family and the entire community, shedding light on the significance of swift action and media involvement in locating missing individuals. The safe return of the missing 9-year-old girl, Patience, is undoubtedly a cause for celebration.
