Nysc Denied As Graduate Was Crushed By A Truck Driver In Abia State

The truck driver who crushed to death a recent graduate of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, has been arrested by the police. The incident occurred on the Aba-Owerri Road, where the graduate, Miss Mary Ogechi Ezekiel, who graduated with a distinction from the Department of Accounting, was hit by a tricycle and subsequently run over by a truck. The truck driver abandoned his vehicle and fled to a nearby police station, but he was later apprehended.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased suffered fractured legs and a dislocated hip after being pushed down by the tricycle rider. The truck driver, in an attempt to avoid hitting her, ended up running over her leg. Despite efforts to save her, Miss Mary Ogechi later passed away.

The tragic incident has sparked protests by students of Abia State Polytechnic, who are demanding safety measures on the road to prevent such accidents. They have called on the government to build a bump on the road to deter reckless drivers. The students also threatened to set the trailer ablaze, but the situation was calmed down by the Rapid Response Squad
