Nigerian superstar Burna Boy continues to make history and push the boundaries of global success for African music. In yet another remarkable achievement, Burna Boy has now become the African artist with the highest-grossing venue in the United States.

According to a post by Touring Data on X, Burna Boy’s concert at the TD Garden Arena in Boston in 2024 grossed an impressive $1.593 million. This surpasses his own previous record set at Madison Square Garden in 2022.

The historic concert saw Burna Boy sell out the 19,000-capacity TD Garden Arena in Boston as part of his ‘I Told Them’ Tour. So far, the tour has grossed a staggering $11,659,531 from 11 reported shows out of the 22 stops.

This achievement solidifies Burna Boy’s status as the leading African artist on a global scale. Since his breakthrough in 2018 with the hit single ‘YE’, Burna Boy has achieved unprecedented success for an African artist.

Affectionately known as the African Giant, Burna Boy holds the distinction of being the only Nigerian artist with two Diamond-certified songs in France, namely ‘On The Low’ and ‘Last Last’. His fourth album, ‘African Giant’, which received a Grammy nomination, also became the first Nigerian album to receive a platinum plaque in France.

With 10 Grammy nominations, Burna Boy holds the record for the most nominations by a Nigerian artist. In February 2024, he made history as the first African artist to perform at the main ceremony of the 66th Grammys.

Burna Boy’s remarkable accomplishments serve as a testament to his talent, hard work, and influence in the music industry. He continues to break barriers and elevate African music to new heights on the global stage.
