A man abducted last week in Edo State, Nigeria. Johnbull Osagiede, was found dead after his family paid a ransom of N9 million to his captors.
Osagiede’s ordeal began when suspected kidnappers invaded Evbohen quarters in Idumebo, whisking him away to an unknown location. The kidnappers then contacted his wife, demanding N15 million for his release.
Desperate to secure his safe return, the family negotiated with the kidnappers and agreed to pay the ransom in two installments. They delivered N3 million, followed by N6 million at a designated location. However, to their utter dismay, Osagiede’s lifeless body was later discovered by community vigilantes near Iguelaba community.
The news of Osagiede’s death has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents in fear and anger. The incident has also raised serious concerns about the escalating problem of kidnapping in the region.
The community has reported the tragedy to the Ugo Police Division, and an investigation is underway to apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
