Okada Riders in Lagos/Ogun state lament over the raid of their motorcycle by the Nigeria Task force on Monday 22nd July,2024 afternoon around Berger going to akute, denro isashi ogun state. It was said by one of those okada rider whom his bike was collected by the task force during that time, said that is what he uses to feed his four kids and his entire family.
All these Okada riders were chase back from Berger by the task force due to some many unseen reasons. Things are hard and difficult in Nigeria of today where poverty and hunger have been the talk of the town, people no longer eat 3 square meal like before but taking their source of income from them can cause more harm to them than good.
Most of them have no other means of income than transport business through their okada. Meanwhile the Lagos state government are trying to curb the excess happening of accident from these okada riders on the road but in as much we want to curb these act and happenings, they should try and minimize it by giving them areas they are restricted for okada riders e.g. Main express road and other high ways roads.
It is important that they put many things into consideration than increasing the rate of poverty and unemployment in the country. Eradicating Okada in lagos or the entire nigeria will bring a great harm to many and it will increase the level of unemployment and poverty in the country.
Better still the government should create job employment for people instead of putting a stop to what people use as a source of income for them and their respective families.
