The gospel music community is mourning the loss of Aduke Ajayi, known as Aduke Gold, who passed away on Tuesday, August 13. Esteemed gospel artist Esther Igbeke shared the news on social media with a heartfelt tribute, saying, “A general has fallen. RIP.”

Aduke Gold gained public attention with her single “Nitori 0go” from her eight-track album. This release became popular on social media, earning her a devoted following. However, her influence went beyond her music; her life story inspired many.

Orphaned at just four years old, Aduke Gold faced numerous challenges early in life. She shared her journey on Instagram, describing how she sold slippers, yam, and fried fish to survive. She also worked in a frozen foods store packing fish heads and learned to cook with firewood when kerosene was unavailable.

Her academic accomplishments were impressive. Aduke Gold earned a higher degree in Child Psychology, a Diploma in Montessori Education from the UK, and various qualifications in Special Education. She focused her career on helping children with special needs, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, and dyslexia.

Aduke Gold’s legacy combines uplifting music and a compelling life story of perseverance and dedication. Her contributions to gospel music and her compassionate work with children will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her or were touched by her music.
