The Nollywood community is reeling from the shocking news of Sharon Okpamen’s passing. The beloved actress and entrepreneur has left us, as revealed by her friend and movie producer Stanley Ontop on Instagram this past Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Sharon was a versatile talent in the Edo entertainment industry, deeply respected for her acting chops and humanitarian efforts. Her sudden departure has cast a dark cloud over Nollywood.

Stanley’s Instagram post paid tribute to Sharon, saying: “It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon Okpamen has left a significant void in the industry. May her soul rest in perfect peace.” His emotional message touched many hearts, even though he didn’t share details about the cause or exact timing of her passing.

Looking back at Sharon’s own Instagram page, it’s evident that just three weeks earlier, she and her husband had welcomed a new baby. A post from @EdoOnlineTelevision on July 31, 2024, joyfully announced the baby’s arrival, but Sharon herself hadn’t shared this happy news, leading to worries that something had gone wrong.

A fan, Prince Selena Small Chop, commented on Stanley’s post that Sharon Okpamen had fallen into a coma after giving birth and sadly never recovered. The entire community is now mourning a bright star gone too soon, and hoping she’s at peace.
