Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole

Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared that current Governor Godwin Obaseki is “politically dead” after the recent governorship election results. This statement came during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Monday Okpebholo, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner.

Oshiomhole emphasized that the election results reflected the true will of the people of Edo State. He dismissed controversies surrounding the APC candidate’s victory, asserting that the outcome clearly showed Obaseki’s diminished political influence in the state.

Oshiomhole criticized the opposition for their aggressive statements, contrasting their stance with a peaceful electoral process advocated by past leaders. He also disparaged Obaseki’s handling of state resources, alleging that Obaseki’s administration favored privatization and neglected public welfare. He argued that the people of Edo State have rejected Obaseki’s leadership and chosen a new direction with the election of Monday Okpebholo.
