Ajuri Ngelale

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, has tendered his resignation effective immediately. This significant decision was communicated through a statement from the Presidency on September 7, 2024. Ngelale has taken the step of submitting a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, indicating his intention to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence.

In addition to resigning from his advisory role, Ngelale has also relinquished his positions as the Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen. This comprehensive stepping down is driven by the need to address pressing medical matters impacting his immediate and nuclear family.

He acknowledges the relentless pace of state affairs and expresses his agony over the decision to put a temporary halt to his duties. His words reflect a deep sense of responsibility toward his role and highlight the extensive consultations with his family that preceded this course of action.

Expressing a forward-looking stance, Ngelale stated his anticipation of returning to full-time national service when circumstances allow, emphasizing the need for time, healing, and fate to align. He also made a respectful appeal for privacy for his family during this challenging period.
