Famous Nigerian musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has successfully settled a breach of contract lawsuit that Brownhill Investment Company Limited, under the direction of Amaju Pinnick, had filed against him. The parties reached a settlement outside of court, and the High Court in Delta has formally approved it.
Brownhill Investments Company Limited filed the lawsuit in October 2023 after receiving a payment of $94,600. The lawsuit accused Davido of failing to perform at the much anticipated 19th “Warri Again” concert as promised. The company requested significant damages in the amount of N2.3 billion.
Davido has agreed to pay N30 million to Brownhill Investment Company Limited within seven days as part of the settlement, in order to help cover their unpaid legal fees. Furthermore, he has agreed to play live at the upcoming “Warri Again” event on October 4, 2024. The $94,500 that the claimant has already paid will be regarded as payment for Davido’s attendance at the event.
The parties to the disagreement have effectively settled the communication problems that gave rise to the lawsuit and have given their full consent to the settlement’s terms. Davido plans to publicly announce the resolution of the issues and confirm his participation in the ‘Warri Again’ concert in 2024 using X, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and other social media platforms.
As part of the settlement, the defendants have also agreed to withdraw the appeal they had previously filed against the court’s decision from January 16, 2024. Brownhill Investment Company Limited, on the other hand, will arrange for Davido’s other transportation needs and concert appearance, including his private jet airfare.
All parties to this settlement agree to its terms, which will become operative immediately upon execution and are legally binding. When the case is brought before the court, the legal representatives of Davido and Brownhill Investment Company Limited will formally adopt the settlement.
Davido can now focus on his flourishing music career and look forward to thrilling the crowd at the 2024 “Warri Again” concert, as the lawsuit has been settled. According to punch news
