Nationwide Manhunt: 97 People Wanted For Terrorism

The Defense Headquarters has officially listed 97 people as wanted because they are allegedly involved in violent extremism, terrorism, and secessionist activities that pose a threat to the state. On Friday night, March 22, Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defense Media Operations, confirmed the wanted people’s identities and photos in a statement that was made public in Abuja.

North East, North West, North Central, and South East are the regions in which these wanted people are dispersed. They comprise bandits, terrorists, and insurgent leaders. It is crucial to remember that no financial reward has been offered for information that results in these individuals’ arrest.

Out of the 97 people on the list, 43 have been designated as wanted in the North West, an area notorious for banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities. Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, Ado Aliero, Bello Turji, Dan Bokkolo, Labi Yadi, Nagala, Saidu Idris, Kachalla Rugga, and Sani Gurgu are a few prominent individuals on the wanted list of bandits and terrorists.

The Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and the Boko Haram insurgency have left 33 people on the wanted list in the Northeast. Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, Ahmad, Sani Teacher, Baa Sadiq, Abdul Saad, Kaka Abi, Mohammad Khalifa, Umar Tella, Abu Mutahid, Mallam Mohammad, Mallam Tahiru Baga, Uzaiya, and Ali Ngule are a few of the notorious terrorist leaders.

In all, 21 violent offenders, militants, and insurgents have been listed as wanted in the South East and North Central zones. Notable people in the south-east include Amobi Chinonso Okafor, popularly known as Temple; David Ezekwem Chidiebube; Obiemesi Chukwudi, also known as Dan Chuk; and Simon Ekpa, the leader of the Factional IPOB.

The Defense Headquarters’ action demonstrates the government’s resolve to fight terrorism and other types of criminal activity in the nation. We are asking the public to contribute any pertinent information that may help with these individuals’ arrest and prosecution. To maintain the safety and security of the country, the security agencies will keep up their efforts.
