The people of Osi-Ekiti in Ekiti State have selected a renowned leader from among them to ascend the throne as the new traditional ruler, the Olosi. After extensive divinership witnessed by citizens, officials and other royal fathers, Prince Babatunde Stephen Adegboyega Alabi emerged as the choice of the gods of the land.
Alabi hails from the Arubiojo ruling family and possesses an accomplished career as a broadcaster, attorney and university lecturer. As a journalist, he rose to the position of News Editor at NTA Akure after many dedicated years of service. Beyond this, Alabi has proven himself as a respected voice and guiding figure within both professional and community circles.
The Odofin of Osi-Ekiti, leader of the kingmakers council, affirmed the unanimous will of the oracles and approval of his chieftaincy body. Well wishes have poured in for the veteran thought leader and new Oba-elect as he takes on royal responsibilities serving his people.
All documentation pertaining to the rigorous selection process, according to Hon Bamidele Adetiloye Omoleye who chairs Ido-Osi LG, have now been sent to the Ekiti State Government for final clearance and approval of the choice.
