The latest FIFA Men's World Ranking

The latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking has been released, and the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been ranked 30th, dropping two places from their previous position at 28th. The rankings, announced by the Federation of International Football Association, show that Nigeria is ahead of the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations winner, Cote d’Ivoire, and seven-time AFCON winner, Egypt.

After the AFCON tournament, the Super Eagles played two friendly matches. They secured a 2-1 victory against their neighboring rivals, Ghana, but suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mali. As noted by PUNCH Online, the Eagles are currently the third-ranked team in African football, behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions and Senegal’s Teranga Lions.

The 2022 World Cup winners, Argentina, are ranked first, followed by France, who finished first in the competition. Third place goes to Belgium, and England comes in fourth.
