MTN DATA

In today’s digital age, data has become an essential commodity. It allows us to stay connected, access information, and communicate with others. If you are an MTN subscriber and would like to share your data with friends or family members, you’re in luck! MTN provides a convenient data sharing service that allows you to transfer data from your account to another MTN number. In this guide, we will walk you through the process of sharing MTN data step-by-step.

Before you can share your data, it is important to ensure that you have enough data balance in your MTN account. You can check your data balance by dialing 131# on your MTN line or by sending “2” to 131 via SMS.

Step 2: Activate Data Sharing

To activate the data sharing feature, you need to send an SMS with the keyword “REG” to 131. This will register your number for data sharing and enable you to transfer data to other MTN numbers.

Step 3: Create a Data PIN

To secure your data sharing transactions, you need to create a Data PIN. This PIN will be required whenever you want to transfer data to another MTN number. To create your Data PIN, send an SMS with the keyword “PIN” followed by a 4-digit number of your choice to 131. For example, if you want your Data PIN to be 1234, send “PIN 1234” to 131.

Step 4: Share Data

Once you have activated data sharing and set your Data PIN, you can start sharing your data. To share data, simply send an SMS with the keyword “SHARE” followed by the recipient’s MTN number and the amount of data you want to share in MB. For example, if you want to share 500MB of data with the number 0803XXXXXXX, send “SHARE 0803XXXXXXX 500” to 131.

Step 5: Confirm Data Sharing

After sending the data sharing request, you will receive a confirmation message asking you to confirm the transaction. To confirm, reply with “YES” within 10 minutes of receiving the message. If you do not confirm within the specified time, the data sharing transaction will be canceled.

Step 6: Successful Data Sharing

Once you have confirmed the data sharing transaction, you will receive a message confirming the successful transfer of data to the recipient’s MTN number. The recipient will also receive a notification informing them of the data received.
