Ikeja Electric

In a move to ease the financial burden on valued customers, Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) has announced a significant reduction in electricity rates for those on priority feeders. With effect from May 6th, 2024, Band A consumers will pay ₦206.80/kWh, down from the previous ₦225/kWh regulated price.

Ikeja Electric assured Band A customers of stable supply between 20-24 hours daily following the tariff adjustment. The decision underscores our dedication to boosting consumer satisfaction through affordable access to power. While Bands B through E prices remain the same, we will continue exploring relief options for all segments into the future.

This review exempts only priority customers currently receiving the most reliable service. As infrastructure upgrades progress in other locations enabling longer up-times, it is our hope to extend reductions in stepped approach. The new fixed charge delivers on commitment to supporting communities coping with economic headwinds through fair energy costs and expanded coverage.

We thank NERC and partners enabling this positive change benefiting those most deserving. As the largest DisCo supporting industries and households, Ikeja Electric priority lies in equitably meeting the needs of all stakeholders. This balanced approach boosts welfare, economic progress and long term sustainability for the region.
