#EndSARS.

End bad governance

The Lagos State Government has issued a plea to residents, urging them to engage in peaceful demonstrations and to avoid any actions that could result in a recurrence of the destructive events witnessed during the 2020 #EndSARS protest.

Notably, the 2020 #EndSARS protests saw public properties, such as the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit terminal at Oyingbo and the state’s DNA and Forensic Laboratory on the Lagos Island, being set ablaze.#EndSARS.

Despite these cautionary reminders, the current economic climate characterized by escalating living costs and food inflation has spurred some Nigerians to organize another protest under the banner “End Bad Governance in Nigeria.” The protest is scheduled to commence from Thursday, August 1, through Saturday, August 10.

As tensions rise and concerns mount, it is crucial for all parties involved to prioritize peaceful expressions of dissent and to engage in constructive dialogue to address the underlying issues. The government’s call for peaceful protests underscores the importance of upholding law and order while advocating for change and accountability.

Lagos government has given a clear and loud warning to all Lagosian of any form of destruction they might be willing to carry out on the day of the protest and that they shouldn’t forget the #EndSARS saga in 2020 which caused a lot of blood shed of many Nigerian youth in Lagos and across the country.
