The Adamawa State Police Command has taken swift action by apprehending Ibrahim Abubakar, a 33-year-old man, in connection with the tragic murder of his 25-year-old wife, Hajara Sa’adu. The incident took place in Sabon Gari-Futy, Girei Local Government Area, within the jurisdiction of the police command.
Abubakar, who works as a butcher, is alleged to have committed the gruesome act by repeatedly stabbing his wife with a sharp knife, inflicting fatal injuries that resulted in her untimely death.
According to the State Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 8, around 4:30 am. The motive behind the attack was reportedly a dispute over a missing phone, which escalated into a heated argument between the couple.
Upon receiving a report from the deceased’s father, the Adamawa State Police Command swiftly launched a preliminary investigation. This led to the discovery of crucial material evidence at the crime scene, which directly linked Abubakar to the murder.
In a voluntary confession, the suspect expressed remorse for his actions and admitted to taking the life of the mother of their only child.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed deep disappointment over the tragic incident. He assured the public that the Adamawa State Police Command would diligently pursue the prosecution of the culprit.
