According to the State Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 8, around 4:30 am. The motive behind the attack was reportedly a dispute over a missing phone, which escalated into a heated argument between the couple.

Upon receiving a report from the deceased’s father, the Adamawa State Police Command swiftly launched a preliminary investigation. This led to the discovery of crucial material evidence at the crime scene, which directly linked Abubakar to the murder.

In a voluntary confession, the suspect expressed remorse for his actions and admitted to taking the life of the mother of their only child.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed deep disappointment over the tragic incident. By working together, the aim is to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future and to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents within the state.
