Nigerian Education Loan Fund: Tinubu Appoints Akintunde Sawyerr As C.E.O

President Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Akintunde Sawyerr as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). This decision, announced in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), reflects the President’s commitment to securing Nigeria’s socio-economic future through sustainable higher education and critical skill development for all Nigerian students and youth.

In addition to Akintunde Sawyerr, two other individuals have been appointed to serve on the management team. Mr. Frederick Oluwafemi Akinfala will take on the role of Executive Director, Finance and Administration, while Mr. Mustapha Iyal will serve as Executive Director, Operations.

The statement emphasizes that with the appointment of this management team, the President expects the necessary structures and systems to be promptly established for the efficient launch of this crucial fund.
