Ondo State APC Mourns the Demise of Governorship Aspirant, Dr. Paul Akintelure
The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is in a state of mourning following the tragic passing of Dr. Paul Akintelure, one of its esteemed governorship aspirants. Dr. Akintelure, a medical doctor, reportedly succumbed to a brief illness in Lagos in the early hours of Tuesday.
In a statement issued by the state Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alex Kalejaiye, the APC expressed its heartfelt condolences. The statement quoted the state chairman of the APC, Ade Adetimehin, who described the deceased as a personal friend with whom he shared a strong bond over the years.
The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State is deeply saddened by the loss of one of its prominent figures, Dr. Paul Akintelure. He was a governorship aspirant who was preparing to participate in the party’s primary elections scheduled for next month.”
“Akintelure was a highly refined and consistent political figure who believed that the essence of politics was to uplift the people and the land. His contributions to the development and stability of the Ondo State chapter of the APC will be remembered. Like other governorship aspirants, he held great optimism for victory in April. He had many plans for the future, but unfortunately, death was never part of them.”
The state chapter of the APC extended its condolences to the immediate family, the Igbotako community, Dr. Akintelure’s political associates, and the Nigerian Medical Association. May his soul rest in peace during this difficult time.
