Lateef Adedimeji, originating from the Ẹgba community of Gbágùrá in Abeokuta, was chosen to play Ayinla Omowura in Tunde Kelani’s film because of his cultural ties to the Ẹgba legend.

Lateef recently returned to Oke Ido and Ija Offa in Gbágùrá to start work on his new project, “Lísàbí,” where he was warmly welcomed and blessed by the community elders.
“Lísàbí,” a film about the Ẹgba warrior Lísàbí Oladeji Agbogbo-Akala, is set to debut on Netflix on September 27th. The movie promises a compelling narrative filled with intrigue, battles, historical context, cultural traditions, and diverse dialects, offering an in-depth look into Yoruba culture.
