A video has been circulating online showing a student from Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology in Ekiti State, Nigeria, hitting another student with a stick.
In the video, the person who was hitting the student ignored their pleas and said, “I want to make you bleed, whether it’s easy or hard.”
This incident reportedly happened on Sunday, the same day the video was shared on social media. The person who recorded the video claimed it took place on the campus of BOUESTI.
According to the person commenting on the video, the victim’s name is Ajayi Precious Gloria, and the person hitting them is a popular Mass Communication student, suggesting that they may have been friends.
The reason for the attack is still unknown, but the video shows that there were other people present who did not try to stop it.
In April, there was another incident of bullying that gained attention on social media. A female student from Lead British International School in Abuja was bullied by a group of her peers, and videos of the incident spread widely, causing outrage and calls for justice.
As a result of these incidents, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has called for a public hearing on bullying in schools.
