Governor Dauda Lawal disclosed these promising developments during a meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress in Gusau. Starting in June, the state will implement the N30,000 minimum wage across all public service levels.
Lawal’s administration has worked diligently to stabilize salaries, successfully clearing three months of overdue payments along with the associated allowances. Additionally, the backlog of leave bonuses and other employee benefits has been resolved.
Significantly, over N4.3 billion has been paid out in retirement benefits that had been pending since 2011. This settlement allows long-neglected retirees to finally receive their due earnings.
